We live fairly close to Southampton and so getting a cab to the ship is so convenient and we don't go near an airport (it also means unlimited luggage, something the ladies seem to appreciate).
Running Travel Dog PR means that I need to be in touch with my clients and the press on a daily basis which is easy with the business facilities aboard the ship. It is not exactly an ideal holiday when one has to log on daily but what it does bring is peace of mind (and I would never miss an opportunity for clients just because I am away).
We also ballroom and latin dance which comes as something of a surpise to people and of course that is a daily option aboard the ship.
People also ask 'what do you do all day on the ship?'. Well the choice is endless; whilst Debbie suns herself reading her book, I am running from one competition to the next - deck quoits, shuffleboard, paddle tennis, darts, Baggo - you name it and I am there!
The reason we stick with Cunard is simply because we constantly meet people who have tried all the other main operators (Royal Caribbean, Princess, P&O, etc.) and they all tell us that the Queen Vic is the best one. We also think the food is top notch on Cunard and, when taking that into account, you realise what great value the trips actually are.
So don't be shy of trying the 'C' word, try it, you might just fall in love with it. We did...
